The role

As a Product Designer at Kustom, you'll help shape our product solutions - including our online checkout, back-office portal, and mobile apps. Working with our cross-functional teams, you'll help develop design systems and patterns that ensure consistency and accessibility while creating user-centered designs that blend functionality with aesthetic excellence.

You'll tackle complex challenges in the payments space, from streamlining checkout flows to optimising merchant experiences in our back-office portal. Using research and data-driven insights, you'll create intuitive interfaces that serve both merchant and end-user needs. As we grow and evolve our products, you'll play a key role in establishing and maintaining scalable design standards across our platform.

Things you'll be doing

• Lead end-to-end design processes for key products and features, from initial research and conceptualisation to final implementation
• Develop and maintain design systems, patterns, and standards to ensure consistency and accessibility across our products
• Conduct user research and leverage data-driven insights to inform design decisions and improve product experiences
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation of design solutions
• Drive strategic improvements by identifying UX gaps and opportunities across our product ecosystem
• Champion design thinking and foster a culture of feedback and knowledge-sharing within the organisation
• Communicate design decisions effectively to stakeholders and influence the product direction & strategy 

Skills and experience you'll need

• 3+ years of professional experience in product design (UX&UI), having worked with complex user journeys
• Strong craft skills in user experience, user interface, and visual/interaction design, with a focus on applying design processes effectively to lead complex initiatives
• Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and inclusive design best practices
• Experience from ideation, prototyping, and validation to launch
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance best practices with innovation
• Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and teamwork skills; comfortable working in cross-functional teams and handling multiple tasks
• Positive, constructive attitude with a willingness to listen, learn, take initiative, and own outcomes

We believe you'll thrive in this role if you have

• Previous experience in fintech, checkout, shipping, or payment solutions
• Experience with graphic design & animation
• Knowledge of front-end technology.
